SKA 45th Anniversary Celebration 2009
A series of events – Invitational Youth Championship; Technical Seminar; Referees’ Clinic; and Dinner & Dance, ushered in SKA’s 45th anniversary celebrations from 3 to 5 July 2009.
Planning for such celebratory events was no mean feat, and it took a dedicated team of volunteers (from among the more senior black-belt members) many painstaking months to piece things.
The hard work of the Organising Committee paid off, as being the host country, we were able to expose many of our aspiring young karatekas to competition at the highest level. Besides serving as a platform in our on-going effort to promote karate and develop our karatekas, the tournament also allowed us to build up the expertise amongst our officials and volunteers.
The responses from the many invited foreign/local clubs and officials were most encouraging. And, together with the support of our sponsors & senior , members of SKA, our events were a BIG success!
The Management Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors for their generous support; Mr Charles Chong, Honorary Patron & MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC and Soke, Ken-Ei Mabuni for taking time off their busy schedules to be with us for the celebrations.
