"I chanced
upon karate when was helping a friend find out about
martial arts. In the end, he had pneumonia so it was
me who joined instead! Although it was sort of on impulse
but I never looked back since. On my first observation
session I was impressed by how flexible those karatekas
are (I can't do sit and reach for nuts but am, and will
still be working on it). Trainings were fun and there
was a sense of satisfaction equivalent to what you call
a runner's high when you train hard. Besides, the seniors
were always there to help you understand the art better.
All you had to do was ask, and learn. The best part
was, of course, the bonds forged. SKA is a home outside
home. And Karate is a lifestyle worth pursuing, for
it trains your physique, determination, and patience.
A sport or recreation suitable for all, the young and
old." |

“I have been working as a flight attendant for Singapore Airlines for the past 15 years. We, the cabin crew had the opportunity to be part of the Martial Arts Circle Group and I gladly took up sports karate in April 06.
Shitoryu karate has shown me the art of self defense and not only that, it has also showed me the basic fundamental skills in life, that is to be honourable, humble and respectful to all the people around us, family, friends, teachers, peers and of course not forgetting our senseis!
I’ve enjoyed each training sessions and till today I’m enjoying it as each time there’s something new we learn or even polish up on our skills and techniques. I’m always looking forward to each training, not only does it keep me alert, fit and healthy, it also makes me a better person.” |
